Yugo Kimura (21)is a multifaceted creative based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. He is an expert musician, producer, sound designer, and post-production producer. He grew up with a lot of music, starting with clarinet as his first instrument at the age of 9 in the school band. He excelled academically in clarinet until graduating high school, completing AMEB Grade Exams, earning performance diplomas, and winning school showcases and scholarships.

When he was around 15 he picked up guitar and singing, and found a more fulfilling outlet for creativity and expression through rock music and creating original songs. Learning to produce by himself using GarageBand and a cheap USB microphone, he invested himself into creating his world of music and started uploading singles and EPs to SoundCloud, later expanding to all streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music etc.

After graduating he moved on to study for a Bachelor in Music and Sound Design at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), expanding his knowledge and skills in audio engineering and picking up skills to work for multiple industries such as media, podcasting, & animation. Here he met and connected with other talented and like-minded peers, collaborated with them and other creative disciplines, and had the opportunity to work and perform as an artist for a student-run record label, ‘450 Records’.

To this day he continues his creative commitments, working on music and content creation for his solo artist project and social media following, being involved in other music units, collaborations and bands, and preparing to graduate his course in half a year. Currently looking for more work, he is open to work involved in music and audio production, to further build up his experience as an audio producer and engineer.
